The neat palate was sweet with chewy nougat and salty with almonds; traces of sun dried tomatoes and balsamic vinegar sliced through the salt. Adding water exposed subtle smoke to the nose; chimneys and church candles, apple cores and linen. The reduced taste developed into a palate cleanser with lemon and lime, grappa, freshly shucked oysters and margarita. This distillery, founded in 1819, is located in the fishing and golfing resort of Brora. Colour - oaked chardonnay (0.7)
