[ノーズ]ブラックオリーブとトロピカルフルーツシロップの見事な香り。スイカ、グアバとパッションフルーツ。続いて潮だまり、優しいタール、オリーブオイル漬けサーディン、塩味の平パン、オニオンピクルス、レモンゼリーとヨウ素。アイラウイスキーには稀なランシオ香のニュアンス、桟橋の端に立っているイメージ。加水すると塩味のアーモンド、キッパー、キルンの煙、塩漬けレモン、塩水に浸かったグリーンオリーブ、魚介のスープ、リンゴ酢、ワイルドフラワー、麻の香りが現れる。 [パレット]ボイラーの煙、パイナップル、ラベンダーオイル、スモーキーな大麦、干し草小屋、白檀の灰、ビーチの小石、土香のターメリック、オレンジピールとヘザーハニー。加水するとスモークしたユーカリ、メンソールたばこ、葉巻、ピートの燃えさし、軟膏、ガーゼ、エルダーフラワーとミネラルバスソルト。 19年間bourbon hogsheadで熟成した後1st fill oloroso hogsheadに移替え。 A stunning nose of black olives and tropical fruit syrups. Notes of watermelon, guava and passion fruit. Then rock pools, gentle tar, sardines in olive oil, salted flatbreads, pickled onion, lemon jelly and iodine. There’s even a touch of rancio which is mad rare in Islay whisky. Standing on the end of a pier. Water unveils salted almonds, kippers, kiln smoke, preserved lemons, green olives in brine, cullen skink, cider apple, wildflowers and hessian. To taste there is an initial jet of boiler smoke then pineapple chunks, lavender oil, smoky barley, hay loft, sandalwood ash, beach pebbles, earthy turmeric, orange peel and heather honey. Water gives us smoked eucalyptus, menthol tobacco, unlit cigar, peat embers, ointments, gauze, elderflower and mineral bath salts. Stunning! Matured for 19 years in a bourbon hogshead before transfer to a 1st fill oloroso hogshead.
