芳醇な香りで、刺激はごく軽い。初めは比較的閉じていて、ややチョークっぽいが、やがて革装の本が感じられ、間もなくマラスキーノチェリーをのせたマデイラケーキ（液状の蜂蜜をかけた）、ティーケーキとダージリン紅茶が加わった。 質感は滑らかで口中に広がった − 味は実に甘く、次いで口の奥に胡椒っぽさ／スパイシーさを感じ、ジャマイカケーキ（糖蜜と生姜）、ホットクロス・バン、レザーがあった。 加水すると固い砂糖のアイシングが現れ、マデイラケーキに缶入りのラズベリージャムとホイップクリームを加えた。快くソフトで甘く、フィニッシュには微かなタバコ。 上品な環境でティータイムに飲むウイスキー。 A mellow nose, with only light prickle. Relatively closed to start with, and slightly chalky, then we scented leather-bound books, soon joined by Madeira cake with maraschino cherries (drizzled with runny honey), tea cakes and Darjeeling tea. The texture is smooth and mouth-filling; the taste very sweet then peppery/spicy in the back of the mouth, with Jamaica cake (treacle and ginger), hot-crossed buns and leather. Water introduces hard icing sugar and adds tinned raspberry jam and whipped cream to the Madeira cake. Pleasantly soft and sweet, with a trace of tobacco in the finish. A tea-time dram in civilized surroundings.
