物議を醸す一杯 ［ノーズ］レーズン、デーツ、シロップ漬けイチヂク、糖蜜、ブラウンシュガー、ジンジャーワイン、マデイラと微かに萎んだプルーン。一方でリノリウム、革、バルサミコ酢も。 ［パレット］フルーツの味わいがどんどん広がっていく。ラズベリー、ブラックチェリー、ダムソン、アプリコットジャム、グリルしたパイナップル、ブラッドオレンジ、プルーンと黒パン。甘い綿菓子、メイプルキャンディ―、フルーツケーキ、マルサラ酒とトフィープリン、フィニッシュに湿った煙草の葉を感じる。物議を醸し、興味深く、天文学の様。 13年間Oloroso buttで熟成し1st-fill Moscatel hogsheadに移し替え。 A controversial dram – the nose gave us raisins, dates and syrup of figs, black strap molasses, brown sugar, ginger wine, Madeira, and a hint of Vieille Prune; but also linoleum, leather and balsamic vinegar. The palate was a rapidly expanding universe of fruits – raspberry, black cherry, damson, apricot jam, grilled pineapple, blood orange, prune and black bun, but with the enticing sweetness of candy floss, maple candies, fruit-cake, Marsala and sticky toffee pudding; moist tobacco leaf on the finish. Controversial – but interesting – like astrophysics. After 13 years in an Oloroso butt we transferred this into a first-fill Moscatel hogshead.
