ロッキー マウンテン ハイ Rocky Mountain high

香り立つには時間がかかるが、多くの発見がある―大麦糖、オレンジ、ライム、ジャマイカン ジンジャー、ココアバター、バニラとフルーツの香りの石鹸（ツアーガイドは、Arran Aromatics〈バス・スキンケア用品〉を思い出す）。加水前の味は、ピリッと辛い香辛料（ジンジャー、シナモン）を感じる。フィニッシュは、バッテンバーグケーキのマジパンの甘さとかすかに革、そしてオレンジピール。加水後の香りは芳しいスモーク、雨の後の土の匂い、生皮と松（“馬の背に揺られて、蹄の音を響かせてロッキー山脈をゆく”）。味は、加水してもなお、口の中が温まるスパイシーな甘さが残り、草の上に降り注ぐ雨と太陽、松ヤニが口いっぱいに広がる。いろいろと考え合わせてみると、ホワイトホースを製造する蒸溜所からのこのドラムは、貴方を旅へと誘う。 Though the nose took time, there was much to discover; barley sugar, orange, limes, Jamaican ginger, cocoa butter, vanilla and fruity, fragrant soap (the Tour-guide recalled Arran Aromatics). The unreduced palate had fiery spice (ginger, cinnamon) with some Battenberg marzipan sweetness, hints of leather and an orange peel finish. The reduced nose had aromatic smoke, earth after rain, rawhide and pine (`clip-clopping through the Rockies on horseback`). The palate still had a warm spicy sweetness, rain and sun on grass and a resinous mouthfeel. One way or another, this dram from the White Horse distillery takes you on a journey.
