焦げた砂糖と「スノーボール」 Burnt sugar and Snowballs

It was soon withdrawn, but this example of the make is also unusually dark. The first aroma is of Brazil nuts, Friars Balsam, cranberries and damsons, with Xmas tree needles, burnt fruit loaf, over-roasted nuts and burnt sugar. The taste is sweet to start, then bitter coffee, and almonds in the aftertaste. Water changes it: ‘toasted marshmallow on a stick’; Lee’s ‘Snowballs’ (sticky toasted fondant, dusted with coconut); a hint of liquorice. The taste is now of sweet fondant, backed by a light bitterness, with some coconut in the aftertaste.
