スペイ川の近くの磯の香りを嗅ぐ Smell the sea beside the Spey

「カスタードとフレッシュなハーブ、花びらの可憐な甘さ、ハツラツとした樽香。クレームブリュレ。加水で旨みが倍増」　香りは微かに薬臭（胃薬）。磯の香り、だが花の香りも伴う。大地とオゾンとともに`塩と石`。しかし味はスペイサイド。－大麦糖にミントの葉、まだ熟していないクロイチゴが感じられる。－　口の中にしわがよる－　そして加水しても同じような状態が続き、スミレやドイツスズランの香りがする。しかし依然として海の近くを流れる川のせせらぎが聞こえてくる。甘く、味覚のストライクゾーンを貫き心地よい口あたりとミディアムレングスの余韻。 This is from a Dufftown distillery, rarely bottled by its proprietor and now demolished. But it noses and tastes like a coastal malt: lightly medicinal (Alka-Selza), maritime but with floral notes, `salt and stones` with earth and ozone. But the taste is Speyside - barley sugar, with mint leaves and unripe brambles; mouth-furring - and water continues this identity, with violets and lily-of-the-valley, but still with echoes of a river as it nears the sea. Sweet and centre-palate to taste, with a pleasant mouthfeel and a medium length.
