海辺のクレオソートとクラシックカー

[ノーズ] 香りはすぐに煤っぽさを感じるが、とてつもなく主張してくる。ピクルスが瓶から湿った藁の上にまかれたよう。 [パレット] 味わいは甘かったが、非常にスモーキーで口の中を駆け巡る。 僅かな加水で油にまみれたオーバーオールやクレオソートで塗られた海辺のフェンスが現れる。一方で、1930年代のクラシックスポーツカーを思わせるニュアンスも。 We could tell that we were going on a journey…to a rather weird and wonderful place. The nose was immediately dirty, but immeasurably appealing. In an old stone barn on the west coast of Scotland a jar of sandwich pickle had been spilt on to some damp hay. Hanging on the wall were hessian sacks and fishing equipment. The taste was sweet, heavily smoky and mouth numbing with intense aniseed and fennel notes. A touch of water and we were wearing greasy overalls and painting creosote onto a seaside fence, whilst a 1930s classic sports car fumed past. The finish was long and strong, ending with a more familiar sweet smoky barley wisp.
