ファーストフィル ホグスヘッド熟成
香りは木彫り職人の作業場と様々なフルーツ（トゥッティ・フルッティ、ブラックカラント、シャーベットレモン・キャンディ、バナナチップス、オレンジ）の組合わせ – 「磨いたオークの海を行くフルーツのオデッセイ」。ココナツ、バニラ、蜂蜜も発見した。
味でもこのテーマが続いた – ジューシーなフルーツ（マンゴー、キンカン、ブランブル、桃、パイナップル）とバニラカスタード – 木材はスパイシーなオークが優勢になった（生姜、クローブ、アニスの実、ナツメグ）。
加水すると、かなり強かったものが穏やかに、安らかになだめるようになった – 香りには乾燥した葦とイグサ、緑茶と赤砂糖 – そして味には香りの強いエキゾチックフルーツ、草、プラムジャム、そしてからかうような、楽しいスパイス類。
The nose combines a wood-carver’s workshop and various fruits (tutti-frutti, blackcurrant, sherbet lemon, banana chips, orange) – ‘an odyssey of fruit on a sea of polished oak’.
We also found coconut, vanilla and honey. The palate continued these themes – juicy fruits (mango, kumquat, bramble, peach, pineapple) and vanilla custard – the wood now predominantly spicy oak (ginger, clove, aniseed, nutmeg).
With water, what had been quite intense became more gentle, comforting and soothing – dried reeds and rushes, green tea and brown sugar on the nose – and perfumed exotic fruits, grass, plum jam and teasing, playful spices on the palate.
