興味をそそられる奥深さ―躍動する辛さ Intriguing depths – ricocheting heat

年代の割には親しみやすく、魅惑的で、爽やかだが、非常に興味をそそられる奥深い香り。砂糖漬けのパイナップル、蜂蜜、オレンジ、ハリエニシダ、ファッジ、バニラ、レザー、白コショウ、パラフィン紙に包まれたトフィーが香る。加水前の味は刺激的で、しびれるような辛さと非常に粘着性のある口当り。蜂蜜、コリアンダーの種、タラゴンの葉、コショウと乾いた草のあと味がする。加水後、香りが一新し、レモン、新鮮な草、砂糖がかかった角切りパイナップル、バターファッジ、ミント味のキャンディがあらわれる。加水後の味は、目を見張る存在感と躍動する辛さ―心惹かれるシトラス、トフィー、ペッパーミックス―が持続する。やがて、乾燥したジンジャー、アニシードのあと味を感じる。 ディアジオ社最北端の蒸溜所から。 カラー　―　ゴッホの‘黄色の部屋’の中のグラス (0.7) ソサエティ日本支部の一言【ハチミツとオレンジ、バニラアイスの外側にバターと甘塩。ねっとりと甘く複雑な余韻が続く。】2011/06 Release The nose was friendly, inviting and fresh for its age, but with intriguing depths; we found candied pineapple, honey, orange, gorse, fudge, vanilla, leather, white pepper and toffee in waxed paper. The unreduced palate had penetrating, numbing heat and beautifully viscous textures, with flavours of honey, coriander seed, tarragon leaf, pepper and dry grass in the after-taste. Water refreshed the nose – lemon, fresh grass, pineapple cubes, buttery fudge and Murray Mints. The reduced palate maintained its considerable presence and ricocheting heat – a lovely citric, toffee, pepper mix with dry ginger and aniseed in the finish. From Diageo’s most northerly distillery.
