からかうようで愉快 Teasing and pleasing

このサンプルには驚くほど土っぽい、ほとんどスモーキーな深みがあった – 我々は当惑したが、不機嫌にはならなかった。 香りには焼いたライム、クレオソート、磨いたマホガニーがあった – しかし蜂蜜、バナナチップ、リンゴ、シナモン、モルトローフもあった。加水すると、ダークチョコレート・フロランタン、焙ったオーク、黄麻の厚い布、生姜、磨いた靴に変わった。 ストレートの味は実に大したもので口が引きつるよう – エスプレッソ、レザー、タバコ、唐辛子、トリークルトフィー – しかし、全てがプラム、ネクタリン、フィグロール、そして柑橘類と蜂蜜の快い組合わせで和らげられた。 加水した味は – からかうようで愉快 – ラムとレーズン入りのファッジ、ブラックジャック、煮リンゴ、ジャファケーキ、そして古いパイプ立て。 There was a surprising earthy, almost smoky depth to this sample – we were puzzled but not displeased. The nose had singed lime, creosote and polished mahogany – but also honey, banana chips, apple, cinnamon and malt loaf. Water turned it to dark chocolate Florentines, toasted oak, hessian, ginger and polished shoes. The unreduced palate was huge and mouth-drawing – espresso, leather, tobacco, chilli and treacle toffee – but all tempered by plums, nectarines, fig rolls and a pleasant citrus and honey combination. The reduced palate – teasing and pleasing – rum and raisin fudge, black jacks, stewed apples, Jaffa cakes and an old pipe rack.
