最初に粉末洗剤と埃っぽい石炭のバケツがぷんと香った後、メープルシロップとバーベキューソースの甘い香りが、燃えている蜜蠟のロウソクと混ざり合って凌駕する。
やがて、ロブスターや蟹、炭火で焼いた小ぶりのホタテのような甲殻類の香りが続く。
味に関しては、そのホタテがグリルのスノコを通り抜け、灰の中に落ち、拾い上げられ、きれいにされて新鮮なレモンを振り掛けられたように感じる。
加水すると、ハワイ・トースト(ハム、パイナップル、チーズをのせてグリルしたトースト)の次に柔らかな甘い芳香と、かすかに花の香りがするスモークがあらわれる。
味は、ホタテに添える有塩の溶かしバターとアンチョビとケッパーを混ぜたソースのようにクリーミー。

After the initial whiff of washing powder and a dusty coal bucket sweet aromas, like maple syrup and a BBQ sauce combined with a burning beeswax candle, dominate. Shellfish aromas follow; lobster, crab and char grilled queen scallops. In the taste these scallops have fallen through the grill grate into the ash, taken out, cleaned and fresh lemon drizzled over them. With water a delicate, fragrant sweet, slightly floral smoke appears next to Toast Hawaii; grilled toast with ham, pineapple and cheese. To taste, creamy like sauce with melted salted butter, anchovies and caper accompanying the scallops.
