The carpenter's workbench was covered with a fine layer of sawdust, brazil nuts and coconut shell that had been crushed into small pieces with a larger wooden mallet. A hessian sack carried a heady concoction of tropical fruit and dried flowers that mingled with the woody spice of the workshop. A breeze blew through the space carrying an invigorating mix of freshly cut grass and peppermint as we noticed a stack of mint chocolates beside ginger snaps and digestive biscuits. A tingle of fresh ginger came from a bottle of ginger beer as we helped ourselves to boiled sweets and vanilla toffees.
