パネルはまず甘みを指摘した。ずっしりとした蜂蜜、バニラ、シトラス香、そして藁、干草、堆積した堆肥のような草の香に変わる。加水すると香に甘さが増し、調理用バター、トフィー、軽いフルーツが感じられる。加水すると味は重たく美味しい。若干まだ強く、余韻は長く、甘さとクリーミーな味が続く。軽く心地よく、ダムフライとギャロウエイで生き残っている蒸留所のものである。
The Panel found this mellow initially. Thick honey, vanilla and citrus was found on the nose eventually turning to grassy notes like straw, hay and even compost heap. The fiery palate had a white pepper taste with hints of vanilla and a medium length nippy citrus finish. There was a developing sweetness on the nose with water - cooking butter, toffee and light fruit. The reduced palate is full and delicious and, whilst still a bit nippy, it has a sweet and creamy palate with a lingering finish. Light and pleasant, and from the only surviving distillery in Dumfries and Galloway.
