ビーチハウスのベランダにある快適なリクライニングサンラウンジャーに横になり、ラム酒、フレッシュライムジュース、アンゴスチュラビターズ、サトウキビジュースで作ったプランターズパンチカクテルを飲んでいるところを想像してみて。「酸っぱいものが1つ、甘いものが2つ、強いものが3つ、弱いものが4つ」の典型的なパンチの味に加え、たくさんのスパイスの味わい。少し加水すると、香りは甘く、フローラルフレッシュ、ミントとライム、レモンシャーベット、ココナッツウォーター、そして泡立ちと遊び心のある、グラスに太陽の光がきらきらと光り、バニラの甘さとジューシーな味。
８年間ex-bourbon barrelで熟成した後、ベリーズ産のラムを熟成したrefill barreへ移し替え。
Imagine lying on a comfortable reclining sun lounger on the veranda of a beach house with a Planter’s Punch cocktail, rum, fresh lime juice, Angostura bitters and sugar cane juice. On the palate neat there was plenty of spice adding to the “one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong and four of weak”! Some weak (water) and the scent was sweet, floral fresh, mint and lime, lemon sorbet as well as coconut water and the taste fizzy and playful, vanilla sweetness and juicy - sunshine in a glass. After eight years in an ex-bourbon barrel, we transferred this whisky into a refill barrel that previously matured rum from Belize.
